In 2006, the city of Barrie launched a city centre revitalization plan that would focus on transforming the community into a designated growth centre. The vision? To create a downtown that reflects the City of Barrie's role as Central Ontario's premier waterfront community. Offering the urban amenities of a regional centre, making Downtown Barrie the City's address of choice to live, do business, and enjoy social and cultural activities.
Since then, Barrie has been one of Canada's fastest-growing cities, with its overall population expected to surge by 210,000 new residents over the next decade. The abundance of new projects is expected to bring 17,000 residents to the city's core, totalling seven percent of its population.
One of Barrie’s most anticipated projects, the Début condos, will elevate the lifestyle of its residents and the surrounding community. It will be a home that nods to the future of a city on the rise: a place that offers an urban lifestyle, urban amenities and the best of Canadian living.
